Manual Features
This manual is divided into five volumes: 1. Chassis; 2. Engine; 3. and 4. Electrical and Body; 5. Maintenance and Lubrication. These volumes should provide Service Technicians with complete information covering normal service repairs on all 1972 model trucks built by the Ford Companies in the U.S. and Canada.
Volume 1 — Chassis: Covers identification codes, wheels and tires, brakes, steering, and suspension. Also includes extensive coverage of driving axles and drive shafts, clutch and manual transmission, and automatic transmission.
Volume 2 — Engine: Provides general service for Gasoline Engines and Diesel Engines. Details vehicle identification, ignition system, fuel system (gasoline and diesel), exhaust systems, cooling system, and starting system.
